Coaching Practices

To Be Or Not To Be..............A Certified Coach

Valwood Christian Leadership Coaching offers certification as a Christian Leadership Coach. Additionally, the International Coach Federation offers three levels of certification for those completing the appropriate requirements.

ICF Certification Requirements

Associate Certified Coach (ACC) Requirements

  • 60 Hours of coach specific training
  • 100 Hours of client coaching experience - documented
  • Participation in an ICF Certified coaching demonstration session

Professional Certified Coach (PCC) Requirements

  • 125 Hours of coach specific training
  • 750 Hours of client coaching experience - documented
  • Coached by PCC or MCC Certified Coach for minimum ten hours over at least a three month period

Master Certified Coach (MCC) Requirements

  • 200 Hours of coach specific training
  • 2500 Hours of client coaching experience - documented
  • Coached by PCC or MCC Certified Coach for minimum ten hours over at least a three month period
  • Documented evidence of contribution to coaching profession

 

VALWOOD Christian Leadership Coaching Certification Requirements

  • Take part in a three-day Foundations of Christian Leadership Coaching Learning Experience.
  • Attend a three-day Advanced Skill Coaching Learning Experience.**
  • Participate in six mentoring sessions led by a professional coaching instructor. Usually these are conducted through a telephone conversation.
  • Coach an individual or congregation concurrent with the mentoring coaching sessions.
  • Participate in three tele-classes on group coaching and skill enhancement.
  • Complete annual continuing education requirements for ongoing coaching certification.
  • **Coaching Congregations, A Coach Approach to Evangelism & Discipleship, or Personal Coaching
